DEAR SUN SPOTS: Would you or any of your readers know of anyone who makes double-flat seated glider swings with a roof in the Livermore Falls area? Thanks. — Pam Goulder, Livermore

ANSWER: Sun Spots only knows of one: Glen Tompkins at Glen’s Country Wood Crafts at 16 Main St. in Peru says he can make flat-seated double-glider swings with a roof.

Glen also offers pine furniture (indoor and outdoor) made in Maine with Maine products, including folding laundry racks, replicas of the old Hoosier cupboard, cedar trunks, toy furniture, pet feeders, birdhouses, Adirondack chairs made our of skis and more.

He can be reached at his showroom Thursdays and Fridays 1 to 5 p.m. and Saturdays 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. or call him at 357-9063.

If other local crafters can make this product and let Sun Spots know, she will print their information as well.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I’ve noticed that many questions have been asked about the upholstery trade (May 11, March 23). The Maine Correctional Center at 17 Mallison Falls Road, South Windham, ME 04062-0260, has one of the best educational programs for its inmates. This is used to teach them a trade for when they are released from prison.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: I enjoy your column very much.

I visit my husband in the nursing home every day. I like to spend a few hours with him. My husband is 91, and he enjoys my visits. I would stay longer with him if I had a chair.

I am looking for a small rocking chair. His room is very small, and I am a very small, short person, so I need a small chair.

I hope to hear from some kind person who has one I can get that won’t cost very much. — Anita, Lewiston, 376-4420
