The meeting was opened by Fern Doiron with prayer, salute to the flag and a moment of silence for departed members and for the men and women serving in the armed services.

The secretaries report was read and amended and accepted as amended.

George Doiron sang two songs, “Forever and Ever” and “Hey Good Looking.” Jim Williams took the floor and shared a couple of jokes. Fern has limited him to two jokes a week.

Chairwoman Shirley Couture will be buried at Holy Cross Cemetery at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, May 18. Couture was also a member of The Red Hatters and The Daughters of Isabella. All are invited to attend to show respect to her and her family.

Seven people have signed up for the bus trip to Fryeburg Fair on Oct. 2. Those interested in attending are reminded not to wait until meetings resume in the fall because there may not be any seats left. Admission into the fairgrounds is free for seniors on that day.
