AUBURN — Despite a three-goal rally in the final three minutes of play, Edward Little came up just short of Oxford Hills, 11-10, in a hard-fought KVAC girls’ lacrosse tilt Thursday.

Danielle Allen led the Vikings (6-3) with five goals, while Abby Morton added four. Amanda Hanning scored twice, while a single tally by Christine Gamache completed the scoring.

The Red Eddies (4-5) were paced by Shelby Russell with a hat trick, while Kara Pancrel,

Kate Sawyer and Gabby LaPerriere each added a pair of goals. Taylor Landry also contributed with a goal for EL.

Audrey Kumolainen made 19 saves for Oxford Hills, while Julia Langerin turned aside five shots in the cage for Edward Little.

Lewiston 13, Camden Hills 8

ROCKPORT — Lauren Lessard and Kelsey Dumond each scored three goals as Lewiston shelved Camden Hills, 13-8, in a girls’ lacrosse game Thursday.

The Blue Devils (8-1) jumped out to a 6-4 lead at halftime before erupting with seven goals in

second half.

Natalie Rousseau added two goals and teammates Jess Cote, Kayla Hamel, Anna Wolterbeek, Mariah Carrier and Kenzie Sullivan each scored a goal.

For Camden Hills (2-6), Mia Maddof scored three goals.

Mountain Valley 18, Lincoln 3

RUMFORD — Ayla Allen scored seven goals and earned two assists, and teammate Emily Gallant added four goals, as Mountain Valley rolled to an 18-3 over Lincoln Academy in a girls’ lacrosse game Thursday.Chelsea Bordeau had three goals and Kayla Pingree scored two for the Falcons (3-6). Whitney Ruff and Jessica Theriault each scored a goal.

Mountain Valley goalie Jordan True made five saves.

Boys’ lacrosse

Messalonskee 7, Lewiston 4

OAKLAND — Nate DelGiudice led a balanced Messalonskee attack with three goals and three assists to lead the Eagles to a 7-4 victory over Lewiston in boys’ lacrosse action Thursday.

Ben Weeks, Aiden Calkins, Ryan Erskine and Dom Dexter also scored for Messalonskee in the victory, and Dylan Clark stopped nine shots to earn the win in the cage.

Max Bolduc, Chris Rancourt, Chris Johnson and Kyle Lemelin all scored for the Blue Devils (5-4), and Steven Patrie tacked on an assist. Tom Lepage stopped 13 shots in the loss.

Baseball

Nokomis 5, Oak Hill 2

WALES — Despite a pair of hits by Parker Asselin and Brady Dion, and a late rally in the seventh inning by Oak Hill, the Raiders came up short as Nokomis rolled to a 5-2 victory in a baseball game Wednesday.

Nokomis (5-6) took a 4-0 lead in the first inning and kept the Raiders (2-10) quiet for five innings before Oak Hill scored two runs in the sixth inning.

Falmouth 7, Poland 0

FALMOUTH — Nick Spencer hurled a one-hitter Thursday and drew adequate run support as Falmouth hustled to a 7-0 rout over Poland in a late-season WMC baseball tilt Thursday.

Andrew Emple led the undefeated Yachtsmen (10-0) with three hits and two RBIs, while Connor Murphy also pounded out two hits and drove in two runs.

The Knights (4-7) put Jake Simard on the mound, holding the game scoreless for the for two frames.

Messalonskee 11, Mt. Blue 3

FARMINGTON — Patrick Breton threw six innings of solid ball and drew ample run support as Messalonskee overpowered Mt. Blue 11-3 in a KVAC baseball matchup Thursday.

Reid Nutter led the Eagles (6-5) with a three-run homer in the second inning.

Devon Warren pounded out two hits with two RBIs, while Travis St. Pierre and Sam Dexter also belted a pair of hits.

Mt. Blue (4-7) was paced by Cam Abbott with three hits, while Matt Crowley also contributed with a pair of hits. Blake Hart worked the first three frames and was tagged with the loss.

Softball

Nokomis 12, Oak Hill 3

WALES — Sarah Packard scattered three hits and drew ample run support as Nokomis overpowered Oak Hill 12-3 in KVAC softball action Thursday.

Taylor Lovely led Nokomis (8-3) with two hits highlighted by a double, while Becca Boyce and Lacy Kent-Welvde each pounded out two hits.

Alexis Priest belted a double for the Raiders (7-5), while pitcher Kortni Michaud went the distance.
