LEWISTON — Frank L. Gould, 82, a resident of Turner, died Thursday morning, May 17, at Montello Manor.
He was born Sept. 15, 1929, in Pittsfield, the son of Horace J. and Vivian J. (Dorland) Gould. He was a graduate of M.C.I. in Pittsfield and attended the Police Academy in Greenville, N.C.
Frank enlisted in the U. S. Army on Oct. 27, 1950, and served during the Korean War and received honorable discharge on Nov. 7, 1953. He married his wife of 54 years, Violet R. Ross, on Dec. 30, 1950, in Pittsfield. Violet passed away in 2005. He worked as a farmer and herdsman throughout the years until his retirement.
He attended Calvary Baptist Church in Turner and was a member of Wayside Bible Baptist Church in Livermore. Frank enjoyed baseball and was an avid Red Sox fan.
He is survived by his sons, Daniel Gould of Wilton and Dennis Gould of North Carolina; and his daughter, Susan Hobgood and her husband, Keith of Roxborough, N.C.
He was predeceased by his parents; his wife Violet; grandsons, Matthew and Brandon Gould; great-granddaughter, Violet Gould; and his brother, Bill Gould.
