BOWDOINHAM — Alfreda M. White, 81, of 38 Center St., Bowdoinham, died Thursday evening, May 17, at her home with family at her side.
She was born in Lewiston on April 15, 1931, a daughter of Lloyd and Philanise (Obie) Carver. She was educated in local schools and remained a lifelong resident of this community.
She married Donald White on June 25, 1971, and worked as a homemaker all her married life. Among her favorite enjoyments were sewing, knitting, camping, holiday gatherings with family, baking and cooking. Most of all, she loved her family and the company of her grandchildren. Alfreda was a loving, devoted and hardworking wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.
She leaves her husband of 40 years, Donald of Bowdoinham; seven children, JennyLea Giguere and husband, Paul, Debra Collins, Samantha Colson and husband, Charles, Barbara Dufresne and husband, Charlie, Donna Snay, Darlene Lavoie and husband, Daniel, and Diane Arsenault and husband, Gary; 16 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; a sister, Nancy Davis and husband, Ralph; and five brothers, Louis Carver and wife, Brenda, Donald Carver, Ronald Carver, Ricky Carver and wife, Nancy, and Alfred Carroll and wife, Honey.
She was predeceased by two sons, Fredrick Snay, and an infant son; two brothers, Francis Carroll and James Carver; and her parents.
