AUGUSTA — A National Armed Forces Day celebration will be held Saturday, May 19, by the National Armed Forces Freedom Ride Maine & New Hampshire Team.

The ride will be held in recognition of those who serve in all branches of the military. Special guest speakers include Maine Attorney General William Schneider, Bureau of Veterans’ Services Director Peter Ogden, Chaplain Andrew Gibson, and retired Marine GySgt Gary Laweryson.

The ride will include motorcycles, classic cars, trucks and street rods, and will roll at 11 a.m. from the Maine Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 163 Mt. Vernon Road, after a brief celebration ceremony. The ride will then proceed throughout small towns in Maine, ending in Arundel at Bentley’s Saloon. All proceeds going to Togus VA Homeless Veterans Program.
