Sisters Andrea Gauthier, left, of Minot and Nancy Norcross of Oxford finish the Hospice House 5K & Remembrance Walk Sunday morning at Central Maine Community College in Auburn. Norcross brought along her son, Dawson, 3, in stroller right, and Gauthier brought along her grandchildren, Taylor Farrell, 3, in stroller left, and Noah Coleman, 9 weeks. The run/walk was a fundraiser for Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice and happened also in Farmington and Oxford on Sunday. According to Teri Blaschke, developmental coordinator for Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, about 575 people participated at all three locations and they hoped to raise $30,000. “Participants have been very generous,” Blaschke said. “We estimate there were 500 people in Auburn alone, and there were a lot of walkers and families.” Blaschke said all events for Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice are coordinated and staffed by volunteers.
