LEWISTON — Lorraine Cote, 85, a resident of Franklin Road, Jay, died late Sunday, May 20, at d’Youville Pavilion, after a long battle with alzheimers.

She was born March 26, 1927, in Livermore Falls, the eldest daughter of Peter and Carmille (Labine) Castonguay. Lorraine was a graduate of Livermore Falls High School.

On Sept. 1, 1947, at St. Rose of Lima Church in Jay, she married Maurice Cote of Livermore Falls. He passed away Aug. 17, 1992.

Lorraine was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. She was a member of the Women’s Auxiliary and the Daughters of Isabella. She also loved to bowl and was a member of a women’s league for most of her life.

She was an amateur golfer, who fell in love with the game. She dedicated her life to her husband, family and her home; she was a loving and supportive mother and grandmother, and great-grandmother, who will be dearly missed by those who loved her. She was the family matriarch of five generations when she passed.

She is survived by her four daughters, Elizabeth “Betty” Frazier and her husband, Richard, of Jay, Linda Iannucci and her husband, Donato, of Old Orchard Beach, Pamela Jamison and her husband, Robert, of Livermore and Donna Driscoll of Livermore Falls; four sons, Dan Cote and his companion, Jan Arsenault, of Jay, James Cote of Jay, Timothy Cote and his wife, Debbie, of Jay and Michael Cote and his wife, Kim, of Livermore; 21 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; nine surviving siblings, Patricia Nadeau, Margaret Williamson, Pauline Dion, Claudette Lemelin, Theresa Meserve, Anita Couture, Jackie Mercier, Rene Castonguay and Paul Castonguay.

Lorraine was also pre-deceased by her brother, Roger; and sisters, Gloria Henry and Louise Nolette.
