LEWISTON — On Saturday, May 26, at 8 p.m. there will be a benefit concert at the Holy Cross Church Hall, 16 Saint Croix St. The concert is being held as a fundraiser for Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp, a public, nonprofit, charitable corporation dedicated to establishing a memorial scout camp in order to promote wilderness camping experiences.

The concert will feature two hot young Maine bands, The Resistance and Spirit Design. Both bands are playing at no charge as a benefit to the cause. Tickets are $10 each, and are available in advance and at the door. All proceeds will benefit Troop 160 Memorial Scout Camp.

At present, the directors are conducting a capital campaign to raise funds needed to purchase a two-acre property on the shores of Spectacle Pond. The property features more than 200 feet of shoreline, a two-story cottage and a campsite. Once the property has been procured, a scout camp will be established in memory of Craig Goodwin and Adam Beggs. Both young men were active members of Troop 160 at the time of their deaths.
