RUMFORD — Harold R. Jackman, 75, of East Livermore, died Monday, May 21, at the Rumford Community Hospital.

He was born Nov. 10, 1936, in Livermore Falls, a son of Cecil and Edna (Bamford) Jackman. He attended schools in Chesterville and Fayette. On Nov. 1, 1958, in Chesterville, he married Janice E. Jordan of Dixfield.

He was employed at Livermore Shoe, the Wilton Tannery and also worked in the woods and owned his own pulp truck. He later worked for Cianbro, was a mechanic at the Western Auto in Livermore Falls and was employed by the town of Fayette, until his retirement.

He was devoted to his family and was an outdoorsman who loved wildlife, particularly birds. He always had a project he was working on as he was the ultimate “putterer.” As was often said of him, “he loved to work on anything he could put wheels on.” His greatest enjoyment was spending time with his family.
