FARMINGTON — Joan C. Fuller, 83, a resident of Pleasant Street, Livermore Falls, died early Tuesday, May 22, at Sandy River Nursing Home.
She was born April 29, 1929, in Lewiston, the daughter of James Henry Crosson and Frances (Ragan) Crosson. Joan attended Livermore Falls High School and continued her education at University of Maine at Orono, receiving her teaching degree.
On July 17, 1946, she married her husband of 59 years, Earl Bradford Fuller. He passed away Oct. 16, 2005. Joan worked as a teacher for the Jay School Department and retired in 1992.
She was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and was also a member of MTA and NTA. Joan and her husband enjoyed traveling and wintered in Bradenton, Fla., for many years.
Joan had a lifelong interest in learning, always looking for new things to learn, such as knitting, quilting, cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles and was an avid reader. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her son, Eric Fuller of Jay; three daughters, Shirley Sanders and her husband, Richard, of Leeds, Sheryl Ostrow of Bradenton, Fla., and Kerry Labbe and her husband, Alan, of Portsmouth, N.H.; five grandchildren, Alana Sanders, Heidi Brunton, Dr. Katherine Tromp, Melinda Kennedy and Bradford Ostrow; great-grandchildren, Logan and Connor Brunton; her brother, William Crosson of Conventry, Conn.; sisters-in-law, Jenny Hoops, Zara Briggs and her husband, Henry, and Rita Fuller; brothers-in-law, Herbert Fuller and his wife, Vivian and Zelman Fuller; and many nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brothers-in-law, Francis Hoops and Maurice Fuller.
