AUBURN — Dana Leo Huard, 80, of 42 Lowell St., Lewiston, died Thursday, May 17, at the Hospice House of Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice.
He was born in Belfast, Jan. 15, 1932, a son of Joseph L. and Mary Dyer Huard. He was educated in local schools. Dana worked for the town of Yarmouth at the Public Works Department and was an avid airplane pilot.
He enjoyed flying, hunting, gun collecting, wood working, driving his car and enjoying the wildlife. Dana will be remembered for his kindness, generosity to all he knew and love of family.
He is survived by two daughters, Diane Tanguay and husband, Lucien, of Massachusetts, and Wendy Deemer and husband, Sherwood, of Sabattus; four sons, Dana Huard and Dennis Huard, both of Massachusetts, David Huard and wife, Paula, of New Mexico, and Joseph Huard and fiancee, Karla, of Auburn; he was married to the former Evelyn McDonald of Florida, who survives; 11 grandchildren; three great-granddaughters; three great-grandsons; 2 stepdaughters, Laurie Howell and husband, Mark, of Yarmouth and Gail Bucklin of Lewiston; and two sisters, Dorothy Edwards of Brunswick and Glennis Myers of Cornish.
