WISCASSET — Ben Holmes struck out 13 batters and threw a no-hit shutout as Dirigo silenced Wiscasset with a 2-0 victory in a baseball game Friday.
The Cougars scored a run in the fourth and sixth innings, and Holmes made sure the 2-0 lead held up. Holmes only walked one batter.
Cody St. Germain brought home both runs with sacrifice bunts. Caleb Turner doubled and singled and Spencer Trenoweth drove in two runs with a pair of singles.
Leavitt 3, Gardiner 1
GARDINER — Junior pitcher Josh Bunker tossed a superb game, striking out 10 and allowing just one infield bunt for a hit as Leavitt collected a 3-1 victory over Gardiner in KVAC baseball action Friday.
The Hornets (9-6) plated three runs in the third inning. Junior right fielder Brian Bedard had two hits, including a double for Leavitt.
Jim Palmer had the only Tiger (7-8) hit, an infield bunt in the losing effort.
Telstar 12, Winthrop 2
BETHEL — Telstar clubbed four doubles among its 12 hits to drop Winthrop, 12-2, in MVC baseball action Friday.
Corey Howard ripped two doubles, while Dan Whitney and Kyle Peterson each added a two-bagger. Whitney finished with three hits and Drew Wilson with two hits while Kurt Morgan chipped in with two hits and three RBIs for the Rebels (11-2). Ben Allen took the loss for the Ramblers (7-6).
Gray-NG 8,
Lake Region 2
GRAY — Aaron Boulos struck out eight batters, hammered out three hits and drove in two runs as Gray-New Gloucester made quick work of Lake Region with an 8-2 victory in a baseball game Friday.
The Patriots (9-6) jumped out a 3-0 lead in the second inning. Gray-New Gloucester used a 10-hit attack to pull the plug on the Lakers.
Austen Keenan and Pat Robinson each had two hits for the Patriots.
Spruce Mountain 5, Monmouth 4
LIVERMORE FALLS — Ben Keene slapped a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh to lift Spruce Mountain to a 5-4 victory over Monmouth in MVC baseball action Friday.
Phil Rowe led off the Mustangs’ (3-11) seventh inning with a triple. Kyle Fletcher plated Rowe to put Monmouth ahead 4-3 with one of his three hits in the game.
Jake Berry singled to lead off the Pheonix (10-5) seventh, and stole second. Scotti Hall walked, and both runners advanced on a double steal. Keene knocked in both runs with a walk off single.
Greely 5, Poland 3
CUMBERLAND — Greely made better use of their offensive activity, dispatching Poland 5-3 in baseball action Friday.
The Rangers produced two runs in the first and three runs in the third inning. Liam Maker had a double and two RBIs for Greely.
The Knights scattered seven hits, but only came away with three runs. Jake Simard produced a double, and Shawn Murhpy had a pair of singles for Poland.
Oxford Hills 10,
Mt. Ararat 2
PARIS — Logan Sanborn allowed just two hits through five innings to lift Oxford Hills to a 10-2 win in KVAC baseball action Friday.
Sanborn (3-1) got all the offensive support he needed when the Vikings (10-5) scored three runs in the bottom of the first with Dylan Cox and Riley Chickering each picked up an RBI. Nick Bowie added insurance with a two-run double in the fifth.
Joey Vannote suffered the loss for the Eagles (3-12).
Lisbon 10, Madison 8
LISBON FALLS — Brandon Hovey belted a pair of doubles and drove in four runs as Lisbon outlasted Madison 10-8 in an MVC baseball matchup Friday.
The Greyhounds (7-7) scored four runs in the first and added three in the second while building a 10-2 lead after four innings for starter Mason Smith. The Bulldogs (5-10) touched reliever Brandon Hovey for six runs in the fifth before he settled down for a pair of scoreless innings to pick up the save.
Ryan Riordan added three RBIs on two hits while Kyle Priddle knocked in two runs on a pair of hits for Lisbon. KP Carpenter (0-1) was tagged for seven runs in three innings of work and took the loss.

Gardiner 11,
Oak Hill 3
WALES — Seth Wing and Josh Caldwell scored three goals each to key Gardiner to an 11-3 triumph over Oak Hill in boys’ lacrosse action Friday.
Caleb Provost, Brian Daniels and Jon Averill netted one goal each for the Raiders. Goalie Matty Martin made 19 saves for Oak Hill, while goalie Cody Hickey turned away 16 shots to earn the win in net for Gardiner.
