A fair vote? I read Mona Murphy’s opinion on the school budget vote here in Auburn and the editor’s note afterwards.
Whether or not the budget was passed is mute; but how the whole thing was handled is another thing altogether.
Yes, according to the editor’s note: this was on the budget’s referendum and, yes, two articles were put in the paper (small at best). Unless you read every article in the paper and keep up on the city and school happenings, you would not know anything about it.
But parents of the children in the schools were given three other notices besides these: emails, phone calls and letters were sent home with the students. And to top it all off, when the budget vote was tied, it made the headlines on the front page in bolder text than when the Red Sox won the world series.
Sided or what?
