AUGUSTA — Paul P. Chizmar, 82, of School Street in Lisbon Falls, died Saturday, May 26, at Togus Hospice, with his family at his side.

He was born in Jay on Aug. 11, 1929, a son of the late Paul and Margaret (Horvath) Chizmar Sr. He graduated from Lisbon High School Class of 1943. Paul proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy.

He married the love of his life, Nancy Lane, on June 6, 1956; she predeceased him in 2002. Paul worked at The Cliquot Club and then went on to work for Fox & Ginn and Auclair Transportation, many years as district sales manager. He was a member of Holy Trinity Parish of Lisbon Falls, the Exchange Club, Chamber of Commerce, Martindale Country Club, and Brunswick Golf Club. Paul also served on many boards including the PTA and the Lisbon School Board. He was a representative of the Internal Management Assoc. of the Northeast Division, a selectman, and a representative of Krugen Brewing of Maine and New Hampshire.

Paul enjoyed sports and in his early years played semi-pro football for the Brunswick Bears. He was an avid golfer and woodworker, owning Colonial Woodworks.

He leaves his four children, Paula Chizmar of Lisbon Falls, Janice Chizmar of Tamarac, Fla., Jonica Poole of Lisbon and Mark Chizmar and his wife, Terri, of Lewiston; and four grandchildren, Tyler Brown, Dillon Poole, Daniel Chizmar and Joseph Chizmar.

He was predeceased by a brother, Louis Chizmar.
