LIVERMORE FALLS — The Jay-Livermore-Livermore Falls Seniors met for the final meeting before summer break at Murray Hall on May 21 with 38 members and two guests. Don and Angie Lowe were guests. The meeting was opened by Fern Doiron with prayer and a moment of silence to honor departed members and men and women in the armed services.

There will be seven members taking the bus trip to Hampton Beach, N.H. They will meet in the Murray Hall parking lot at 6 a.m. to car pool to Lewiston.

American Legion Post 10 will have the yearly yard sale from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 25, and from 8 a.m. to noon Saturday, June 26.

The Knights of Columbus yard sale and raffle will be held at the hall from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, June 9. Call George Dorion at 897-2782 for donations of items or to buy raffle tickets.

Elections of offices will be held on the first meeting September 10th along with a potluck lunch the hospitality committee will contact all members prior to that date to see what each member can bring.

Fern Doiron has decided she wants to honor those members who go above and beyond what is expected of their jobs in the club. The first member honored was Pat Laverdiere, who supported Doiron after she took on the president’s position after the loss of Shirley Couture.

Entertainment was provided by Louise Parker and her karaoke machine. The 50/50 drawing was won by Nancy Couture. The door prizes, donated by Carol Redmon and Fern Doiron, were won by Pat Couture, Alice Demoras and Carol Redmon.

Birthdays were celebrated and George Doiron lead in “Happy Birthday.” The picnic ended with ice cream and cake decorated by Nancy Couture in memory of the fallen veterans from all wars
