LITCHFIELD —It’s that time of year once again for the first of two Blistered Fingers Bluegrass Festivals, bringing together music fans to hear banjos, fiddles, and high, lonesome harmonies. 

Performing June 14-17 at the Litchfield Fairgrounds will be The Lonesome River Band of Virginia, Saturday; The Little Roy & Lizzy Show of Georgia and Tennessee, Saturday; The Bluegrass Brothers of Virginia, Thursday and Friday; White Mountain Bluegrass of New Hampshire, Saturday and Sunday; and Tony Holt & Wildwood Valley Boys of Indiana, Friday. 

Also, The Bluegrass Diamonds of Nebraska, Friday, Saturday and Sunday; Travers Chandler & Avery County of Virginia, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; Original Condition of Maine, Thursday, Friday and Saturday; and Blue Around the Edges of Rhode Island, Friday and Sunday. 

And, The Pine Hill Ramblers of Massachusetts, Sunday; Maranacook String Band of Maine, Friday; Robinson Gospel Sing Along & Jam of Massachusetts, Sunday; and Blistered Fingers of Maine, Saturday. 

Once again, the Blistered Fingers Kids Academy, a three-day music program for children for ages 8-18, will be presented, courtesy of Blistered Fingers and the Bluegrass Music Association of Maine. 

Blistered Fingers, a lively traditional bluegrass band from central Maine, performs throughout the Northeast and eastern Canada. The group is known for its mix of original material, soulful ballads and hard-driving traditional bluegrass music, with a little humor tossed in. 

The festival has been held every June and August since 1991. Gates will open at 8 a.m. on Monday, June 11.   

Tickets are $70 for all four days with free camping; $10 for Thursday only; $25 for Friday only, $20 after 5 p.m.; $25 for Saturday only, $20 after 5 p.m.; $10 for Sunday only; free for children 12 and younger with paying adult; $10 for dogs; $20 for power for entire stay. Tickets available at fairgrounds gate at 30 Plains Road.
