PORTLAND — Arthur J. “Artie” Ladd Jr., 47, of Rumford Point was called to his place in heaven on Tuesday, May 22, after a brief but difficult battle with cancer.
Artie was the youngest of four children born to Arthur J. and Joyce C. (Raye) Ladd Sr. on Nov. 12, 1964.
A 1984 graduate of Rumford High School, he was employed by his father’s family business, Ladd Farms Inc.
Artie was a friend to many, and though he will be deeply missed, we will cherish our memories and remember him for all the many ways he made each day brighter. Those who knew him can recall his passion for family, love for Bingo and his “Beano Buddies,” as well as his adoration for snowmobiling, three-wheeling, his four legged fur children and any outing or adventure where he was accompanied by those dearest to his enormous heart.
Survivors include his loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Ladd Sr. of Rumford Point; two sisters, Rhonda Elliott and companion, Charles Brown, of Rumford Point, and Mary (Ladd) Lyons and husband, Thomas Lyons, of Jacksonville, Fla.; nieces, Shelley Elliott of Rumford, Ashley Kensell of Augusta, Chantel Diotte of Jacksonville, Fla., Samantha Purcell of Chesterton, Ind., and Chloe Brown of Rumford Point; nephews, Nicholas Lyons and David Lyons of Jacksonville, Fla.; great-nieces and nephews, Abby, Logan, Gena, Malachi and Brooke; his beloved best friend, George Cataldo; and loyal companion, “Spirit” (his dog).
Making his arrival into heaven joyful were those he’d loved and lost. A holy reunion when there he met his beloved brother, Chester “Chet” Ladd, close friend Barbara and his much missed “Boo-Boo.” Until we meet again….love ya more.
Friends and family are invited to sign the online guest book and share memories with the family at www.meaderandson.com.
