AUBURN — Audrey Pleau, image consultant at Transitions at Bedard, recently earned 19 continuing education credits from the American Board for Certification in Orthotics and Prosthetics.
The courses were administered by American Breast Care in Mastectomy Fitter Training.
Pleau attended seminars in post-mastectomy pain syndrome, understanding post mastectomy lymphedema and others at the annual Essentially Women Trade Show in Orlando, Fla. She also holds eight ABC OP credits in wig alterations.
Pleau, a licensed cosmetologist, serves as Transitions’ full-time image consultant and offers complimentary skin care consultations and wig fittings. She personally fits wigs and customizes hairpieces for men, women and children who are experiencing hair loss of any type, including mild or significant alopecia.
Pleau holds a cosmetology degree from Spa Tech Institute in Westbrook and is completing a bachelor of science degree in health and human illness at the University of Southern Maine. She has attended numerous workshops, including Fitting Tips for Breast Conserving Surgeries, Hope is Essential and Medical Hair Loss at the National Hair Academy.
