Seniors day trips
LEWISTON — Meadowview Senior Complex will have two day trips, which includes Sunday, Sept. 9., going to the Ogunquit Playhouse to see the musical, “Dolly Parton 9 to 5.” Members will stop at a mall and at a restaurant before the show.
The other trip is the annual outing to Indian Head Resort for a meal, show, refreshments, a gift from Santa Claus and a free photo with Santa, on Saturday Nov. 17.
Both trips still has space available. Parking for the trips is at Meadowview on Spofford Street. For more information, call 786-2305.
Niagara Falls trip
LISBON — The Lisbon Recreation Department will host a trip on Sept. 23 to 29 to see Niagara Falls and Toronto. They will visit Casa Loma Castle and Niagara-On-The-Lake, as well as take a ride on the Maid of the Mist. The price is $579 and includes transportation, meals, lodging, tours and tips. A passport is required.
A $75 deposit is needed and checks should be made payable to Diamond Tours Inc. and sent to the Recreation Department, 18 School St., Lisbon Falls, by Wednesday, June 20. Full payment will be due by July 18. Call 353-2289 for information.
Quilting dates
MONMOUTH — A nine-patch quilting class is being held at the Packard Activity Center, with proceeds to benefit the United Church roofing fund. Drop-ins are welcome.
Upcoming classes are Monday, June 4, Monday, June 11, Tuesday, June 19, Monday, June 25, and Monday, July 2. Sessions are held from 5:15 to 7:15 p.m. in the center under the church on Main Street.
The class will construct a nine-patch with three colors, which will be quartered, turned, and reconstructed to form a quilt.

Bridge play
LEWISTON — The Lewiston-Auburn Duplicate Bridge Club winners at the Multi-Purpose Center on May 29 were as follows: first, Mary Trafton and Kathleen Burden; second/third tie, Nancy Farmer and Rich Worthington with Cynthia and Bill Clifford; fourth/fifth tie, Sue Kaluzynski and Claire Lyons with Paul Sherman and Mike True.
Winners at Schooner Estates, Auburn, on May 31 were: first, Anna Vitiello and Claire Lyons; second, Jeanine Kivus and David Lock; third, Kathleen Burden and Mary Trafton.

Cycling pains topic
LEWISTON — “Cycling Aches and Pains” is the topic of a free informational session set for Monday, June 11, at Chairmen’s Room A on the lower level of the 12 High Street Medical Office Building at Central Maine Medical Center. The presentation will begin at about 5 p.m. and last about 30 minutes.
Certified athletic trainer Greg Jancaitis from Central Maine Sports Medicine will review some of the most common injuries and illnesses that cyclists encounter. He will discuss the typical causes of the injuries, how a developing problem can be identified and how a change in cycling technique and bike fit can address the problems.
