LEWISTON — For the summer the Center for Wisdom’s Women will be open from 9 a.m. to noon Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. The center will be closed on Tuesday, June 5, for a staff training day and closed for vacation July 23 to Aug. 3.  

Morning programs are held every weekday from 10 to 11:30. The Art Van will return to the center on Wednesday, June 27, and will return monthly, due to a grant from the Carignan Fund at Bates College. The regular Wise Woman Cooking Group will meet with Denise Dill on Tuesday, June 19.

A special program about ancient goddess images and stories is planned for Thursday, June 28. Before Christianity and other world religions, people honored the feminine.  Goddess images from 36,000 years ago have been discovered. 

A craft class is scheduled for Tuesday, June 12, the twice-monthly scrapbooking on Wednesdays, June 6 and 20, and a watercolor class on Thursday, June 7. SARK (playing with art) will take place on Thursday, June 14, and bingo is set for Tuesday, June 26, with the birthday party scheduled for Friday, June 29. 

The Writers Workshop meets weekly on Monday mornings. Scrabble and other spelling games are scheduled for Friday, June 8, and a clothing give-away on the Monday, June 25.

Support groups are planned from 1 to 2 p.m. and include Wisdom Circle with Sarah Wood on Tuesday, June 19, Beating the Blues on Tuesdays, June 12 and 26, and Fibromyalgia every Thursday afternoon. Other available options during that hour include games, LOL, card-making, collage, singing and chanting. An Al-Anon group meets at 12:15 p.m. weekly.

Personal hygiene items are given away upon request, and an oatmeal breakfast is available daily. All women are welcome and programs are offered free. For a complete calendar, see www.wisdomswomen.org.
