Work day reset

RUMFORD — The Mahoosuc Land Trust celebration of National Trails Day has been rescheduled to 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 9. The Whitecap Trail work day will include maintenance on existing trails and start on construction of the Whitecap to Black Mountain Trail. 

Those attending should bring gloves, small hand tools, lunch and water.  Refreshments will be provided at the end of the work day.  Meet at Whitecap parking area on the East Andover Road, Rumford.  For more information and directions, call the land trust at 824-3806 or email [email protected].

Riders trail ride

ANDOVER — Ellis River Riders will host an organized trail ride at 9 a.m. Saturday, June 9, beginning from the showgrounds on Airport Road. It will follow marked trails through the Sugar Shack Trail.

The group has rescheduled a versatility trail clinic due to foul weather. The clinic will be held at the show grounds from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, June 10, with clinician Debbie Little.

Market opening

RUMFORD — Yesteryears Marketplace will open Saturday, June 9, at the Maine
Made Furniture parking lot, Route 2. Tables will be $5 a day. For more information, call 369-9298.

e Reader workshop

RUMFORD —  An e Reader workshop will be held at Rumford Public Library at 3 p.m. Friday, June 8. Learn how to download library books on a Kindle or Nook for free from the Download Library.
 
 Circle to meet

RUMFORD — St. Timothy Circle 504, Daughters of Isabella, will meet at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 12, at the Holy Savior Parish Hall.

Chairwomen are Judy Collette and Marcelle Miller. Also on the committee are Evelyn Bodermer, Jolene Lovejoy, Sandra Comeau, Maureen Leavett, Donna Martin and Doris Curetor.

The following are to be congratulated on their June 25-year-plus membership to the Daughters of Isabella: 33 years, Jill Hamonn; 45 years, Lorraine Barre;  July 25-year-plus membership, 26 years, Mary Morgan; 60 years, Jean Sotman; 61 years, Pauline Buckingham.
