The floodgates opened in the fifth with a three-run homerun by Miles Hartford, followed by an inside-the-park homerun by Kevin Pontbriand. The Parts Pros scored three more runs before the fifth was over and never looked back, scoring three more in the sixth inning, while only giving up one run on a solo homerun in the bottom of the final frame.
AUBURN — The NAPA Auto Parts men’s softball team remained undefeated in the Auburn Rec Players Middle Division with a 15-4 victory over Meineke Muffler at Tribou Field.
NAPA started early, scoring three runs in the top of the first inning and two more in the top of the fourth. Meineke got on the board with three runs in the bottom of the fourth.
Jon Alexander (3 for 4 with 2 runs scored, 2 triples and 3 RBIs) and Joey Sullivan (3 for 4 with 2 runs scored, a double and an RBI) led NAPA. Kasey Clark, Clay Phillips, Terry Goguen and Kevin Pontbriand all helped out with 2-for-3 performances.
Clark had a run scored and an RBI. Phillips scored twice and had an RBI. Goguen added an RBI of his own, while Pontbriand scored once and had 2 RBIs to go along with his round-tripper.
NAPA looks to continue its hot streak against Haggerty Construction (4-1) this week in division play.
