FARMINGTON — Ethelyn J. Rackliff, 80, of West Farmington passed away on Wednesday, June 6, at Sandy River Center for Health Care.
She was born March 11, 1932, in Skowhegan, the daughter of Lewellyn R. and Emma G. (Gilman) Jenkins. She married Henry Rackliff in Skowhegan in 1949, he passed in 1989.
Ethelyn raised her family while operating her own daycare service, being known as “Auntie” to many children in the area. She enjoyed traveling with a group of friends called the Neighborly Sisters of Peru, tending her house plants, doing crafts, and she kept a wonderful collection of family pictures. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.
Ethelyn is survived by her daughters, Belinda Libby and her husband, Max, of New York, and Wanda Alexander and her husband, David, of Farmington; her son, Andrew Rackliff and his wife, Wendy, of South Berwick; 15 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was predeceased by her husband; a son, Richard; two sisters, Rita and Barbara; and her brother, Roger.
