RUMFORD — A Mass of Christian Burial honoring the life of John Norman “Mac” MacDonald was celebrated May 16, at Parish of the Holy Savior. The Rev. Philip Tracy was the celebrant. Bernard Poirier was the altar server. Readings were presented by his sister, Arita Zitoli. Offertory gifts were presented by grandchildren, Colin MacDonald and Gage Welch. Mark Belanger was the organist. Music selections were “Precious Lord Take My Hand,” “Jesus Jesus,” “Ave Maria” and “Fly Like A Bird.” The eulogy written by daughter, Jeanne MacDonald was read by her fiance, Jim Austin. Bearers were Scott MacDonald, Jim Austin, Colin MacDonald, Gage Welch, Eric Arsenault and Mark McPherson. Interment was at St. John Cemetery, with military honors by the Maine Funeral Honor Guard. A reception served by the Daughters of Isabella was in the parish hall. Services were by S.G. Thibault Funeral Home.
