Richard Berkoff (played by Jeffrey Rockwell) teaches Ted (Tom Frey) how to count music in Portland Stage Company’s production of “2 Pianos 4 Hands,” running through July 1. The play follows the dynamic and comical true journey of two boys into adulthood. Two pianos are played on-stage throughout the show, the focus of the boys’ frustration, desire and dreams. The two actors also play more than 20 other characters, bringing to life childhood memories of teachers, lessons, parents and recitals. Shows are at 25A Forest Ave. For times and tickets, call 774-0465 or visit www.portlandstage.org.
