LIVERMORE — Charlie S. Gordon, 94, lifelong resident of Livermore, died peacefully, Wednesday, June 6, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born May 5, 1918, in South Livermore, the son of John L. and Georgia Mae (Seavey) Gordon. Charlie attended school in Brettuns (Livermore). On Nov. 18, 1938, in North Livermore, he married his wife of nearly 60 years, Mildred Pearl Bartlett. She died Sept. 12, 1998.

Charlie served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He farmed most of his lifetime; he also worked for his brother, Guy, in the woods, worked for C.N. Turner Store in Livermore, and drove school bus for a couple years. Charlie was a member of the Canton VFW and Agrimart.

He is survived by his son, Wesley Gordon and his wife, Fern, of Livermore; five daughters, Barbara Gates and her husband, Sam, of Bakerfield, Vt., Joann Fink and her husband, Dan, of East Granby, Conn., Pearl Boutwell of Livermore, Edith Bragg of Canton and Pat Litalien and her husband, Paul, also of Livermore; 44 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and 13 great-great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by his wife; four brothers, Ralph, Pearly, John “Guy” and Clyde Gordon; and four sisters, Elsie Lee, Clara Bryant, Bertha Sullivan and Florence Capen.

Charlie’s family would like to give a grateful “THANK-YOU” to their brother Wesley and his wife Fern who had been caring for “Dad” with complete love and devotion for the past several years, without their care Charlie would have never been able to live his final years at home on the farm.
