Recently, I saw in the news that the state of Maine will issue a veteran’s driver’s license to any veteran who provides a copy of a DD-214 and who is willing to pay an extra $5.

I think that my time served should be payment enough to be designated a veteran.

The people we elect to office are always saying we have to take care of the veterans. Charging $5 extra for a veteran’s license shows just how little they care.

Some states give hunting and driver licenses to veterans for free. And many states give bonuses to veterans upon discharge from active duty.

I am not very happy with this program.
