LEWISTON — Philip Jean, MBA, CNHA, FACHCA, of West Gardiner was recently appointed District 1 Director of the American College of Health Care Administrators Board of Directors.

He was installed May 6 at ACHCA’s 46th Annual Convocation and Exposition in Nashville, Tenn.

Jean is the vice president of Elder Care Services at St. Mary’s Health System and administrator at St. Mary’s d’Youville Pavilion.

He has been a member of ACHCA since 2000 and is a Certified Fellow in ACHCA, which represents the highest level of achievement within ACHCA. He has served on many national committees, including professional advancement, education, and the IT task force work group. He is president of the Maine Chapter of ACHCA and is an exam item writer for the ACHCA certified nursing home administrator exam. As District 1 director, he will continue to help ACHCA support membership and grow programming in six states including Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maine, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.

The American College of Health Care Administrators Board of Directors is  the nation’s leading professional society of long-term care administrators.
