Serving as song leader will be Aliette Couturier, inducted earlier this year into Maine’s Franco-American Hall of Fame in recognition of her dedication to keeping French music traditions alive in the local community.
Assisting will be several colleagues from monthly Franco song sessions held at the University of Southern Maine’s Lewiston-Auburn College, under the auspices of USM LAC’s Franco-American Collection.
Song booklets will be provided so that anyone can follow along with the lyrics, regardless of their ability to speak French. “The more voices we have, the merrier it will be,” said Mark Prevost, resident services director at Schooner. “Or, as we say in French, un bontemps pour tous la monde.”
The singalong, organized by the Maine Folque Co-op, will take place in the Village Green in Castine House, Schooner’s main building. Schooner Estates is at 200 Stetson Road. For more information, call 784-2900.
