AUBURN — Karen K. Smith, 48, passed away unexpectedly on June 10, at her home in Auburn.

Karen was born in Newburyport, Mass., and raised in South Portland. She was a 1983 graduate of South Portland High School and went on to attend Pierre’s Beauty School in Portland to become a hair dresser.

Karen was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and enjoyed watching them with her sons, Elijah and Noah. She always put her family and friends before herself, even in the darkest hours.

Karen is survived by her daughter, Kelsi-Rae Moreshead of North Carolina; her two sons, Elijah and Noah Moreshead of Auburn; her mother, Constance Smith of Avon; her sister, Kim Dominicus of South Portland; two brothers, Kenneth Smith of South Portland and Kevin Smith of Saco; many nieces and nephews; and her partner, James Moreshead.
