SANFORD — Patricia Morrison Bragdon McQuinn, 83 years, of Webhannet Drive, Wells, died on Wednesday, June 13, at the Newton Center in Sanford, following a long illness.

She was born in Bar Harbor, May 23, 1929, a daughter of Dr. Charles Carr Jr. and Hazel Rebecca (Allen) Morrison. She graduated from Bar Harbor High School in 1947. She moved to this area in 1949, and was a graduate of the former Nasson College in Springvale.

In 1949, she married Robert Bragdon and they enjoyed 21 years together, until his death in 1970. On Dec. 12, 1989, she married Vernon A. McQuinn in Wells.

Patricia was employed as a secretary at Wells High School for 22 years, where she had a positive impact on many students’ lives. She enjoyed gardening, knitting, the beach, boating and playing Bridge.

Patricia is survived by her three daughters, Martha Connolly of Poland, Linda Litchfield of Palm Harbor, Fla., and Rebecca Wright of Scarborough; two sons, Robert G. Bragdon of Wells and Charles M. Bragdon of Wells; three stepdaughters, Laura McQuinn of Radnor, Pa., Caroline Shirk of Milton, Pa., and Amy Windish of Chalfont, Pa.; one stepson, Bruce McQuinn of Ambler, Pa.; nine grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Patricia’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Newton Center for the wonderful care given to Patricia during her stay there.
