A special policy meeting of the Auburn City Council will be held in August to determine the future of approximately 40 unaccepted streets in the city. The decision came as a result of a request for Melvin Street residents to have their street tarred. Ward 2 Councilor Frances Abbott said the city should stop “hiding behind” the categories of “accepted” and “unaccepted” streets. She said, “As a policy-making body, we should look into a long-range solution to the problem.”
