CANTON — Voters will decide at Saturday’s annual town meeting how much to spend to operate the town in the coming fiscal year.
The meeting opens at 9 a.m. at the old municipal building. The warrant has 33 articles.
The proposed municipal budget for 2012-13 is $566,469, and Town Administrator Harry Childs said the tax rate should change little. The $5,800 increase in the budget it due mostly to the Oxford County assessment rising from $40,350 to $43,000, he said.
Among the proposed expenditures are: $132,722 for public works; $3,825 for social services; and $10,000 for General Assistance.
