CANTON — Veteran Selectman Jackie Conant is starting another three-year term after being re-elected last week.

She received 91 votes to challenger Rob Walker’s 45. Walker is a member of the Budget Committee.

No one turned in nomination papers for a three-year seat on the RSU 10 board. However, Faith Campbell won the position with 12 write-in votes. She replaces longtime board member Cindy Bissell.

Administrative Assistant/Town Clerk Harry Childs said several other positions were filled, including unopposed Planning Board members, Sue DeGroot and Becky MacDonald for additional five-year terms and Chris Dailey to another three-year term on the Budget Committee.

Two seats remain on the Budget Committee which will be filled by appointment from selectmen, Childs said.

Tanya Noyes and Becky Adams were elected to the Recreation Committee for three-year terms. Both received 11 write-in votes.

Residents also approved two citizen initiatives spearheaded by Chris Dailey.

Residents voted 92-38 to have line items in the town meeting warrant in 2013. They also approved videotaping selectmen’s meetings by a vote of 84-45. Funds are not available for videotaping meetings, but the issue may be discussed at Saturday’s annual town meeting.
