SOUTH WINDSOR, Conn. — Dolores White Nichols of South Windsor, Conn., formerly of East Hartford, Conn., a native of Starks and widow of Ellsworth Nichols, died peacefully Thursday, June 14, at the age of 89.
She was born Aug. 25, 1922, in Starks, daughter of the late James and Etta White. Dodie resided in East Hartford for many years before moving to South Windsor. Many of her old friends and acquaintances referred to her as the “Top Notch Lady,” easily recognized by her beautiful white hair and a smile for everyone. After Top Notch closed, she finished out her cashiering days at Andy’s Supermarket.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna (Al) Jezouit of South Windsor, Sharon Nichols of Industry and Pamela (Bruce) Wentworth of South Windsor; eight grandchildren, Sandra, Lea, Debra Jezouit, Al Jezouit Jr., Terry Nichols, Renee Eager, Bobbi Jo Frost, Karen Luce and Erin Perry; 16 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren; a brother, Merlin White of Farmington; sister-in-law, Freda Burnham of East Boothbay; brother-in-law, Philip Nichols of Jay; and dear friends, Theo and Glendon Dexter of Westbrook.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by a brother, Everett White.
