Every time I read about plans for a new Edward Little High School, I have to scream into my pillow.

Those out-of-touch officials are trying to bankrupt the taxpayers of Auburn. And not one word about a science lab or computer lab or a much-needed industrial arts program.

I graduated in 1979. That year there were 476 seniors. The class of 2012 was 240. That’s half the students. Fewer kids, bigger EL? Sounds like some fuzzy math.

I live in an 1826 farmhouse. Let’s just say, there is plenty of rotten and moldy wood to go around. I read in the newspaper that there are 635 Auburn homesteaders who weren’t able to pay their 2011 property taxes. The funny-business with the vote will mean a 3 percent increase in taxes. Take that, you 635 losers.

The city tax assessor says my mold is worth gold. If you look beyond all the “For Sale” signs in Auburn’s front yards, I would say there is plenty of mold, I mean gold, for a new EL.

Excuse me while I go scream into my pillow for fright, because I am one furnace or truck breakdown away from being loser 636.

Jeffrey Keenan, Auburn
