PARIS — The barn at McLaughlin Garden has once again become an art gallery for the summer, with photography by Jennifer Lonergan of Hebron Academy showing until the end of the month.
Openings are usually held the first Friday of the month. Featured artists in July will be the Janelles from Bridgton.
Lonergan is particularly interested in natural abstraction, texture and light. Her work has been inspired, since childhood, by a fascination with life in tidal pools.
William Janelle is a self-taught sculptor who works in wood, stone and bronze. He combines realism and neoclassicism. Loraine Janelle is a photographer and antique dealer who reflects on the beauty of her Maine surroundings.
The Janelle opening will be July 6, with a reception scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. A carving demonstration is planned. Music and refreshments will be provided.
The barn is open from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday. The garden is open daily from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. McLaughlin Garden is at 97 Main St. (Route 26), near Western Avenue.
