MECHANIC FALLS — Mechanic Falls will host their third annual Community Days on June 22 and 23. Activities begin Friday evening with a couples race at the ball fields and live broadcast from OXO Country during the race.

Later in the evening there will be a lawn chair “drive in” featuring the movie “Daddy Day Camp.” Wrapping up the evening, the Bobby Reed & Wildhorse Band will be playing at the Silver Spur Dance Club.

Saturday events will include a pancake breakfast, Pottle Hill Road Race, car show at Dads Place, community parade and the first Great Duck Race. The Fire/Rescue Dept will host a cow pie challenge in the afternoon. The Historical Society open house and history talk will begin at 1:30.

There are many other activities going on with local clubs and organizations like the the Uptown Cruizahs Car Show, American Legion chicken barbecue, The Falls Gift Shoppe yard sale, Tyrion Lodge-Masons strawberry shortcake booth, Clydesdales horses/wagon rides, maple goodies from the Suga Shak and more.

Crafters, vendors and fair foods will be available in Mill Square and on the Town Hall grounds. Other Saturday activities include Life Flight helicopter tours, Army climbing wall, Cake Pops for a Cure/Dempsey Challenge, bouncy house and more.

The newly expanded community parade will start at 11 a.m. and run down Pleasant Street/Route 121 to Town Hall on Lewiston Street. New to the parade is the Shriners Krazy Cops, marching bagpipers, fire trucks from many area towns, many local club entries as well as a few floats from local businesses.
