FARMINGTON — Grace S. Drown, 90, went to be with the Lord on June 17, with her loving husband by her side at Pinewood Terrace.
She was born to John Earl and Ruth Stella (Ranger) Oakes, Nov. 18, 1921, in North Chesterville. She was educated in the schools of North Chesterville, Farmington and Wilton.
Grace worked as a clerk in the North Chesterville store, G.H. Bass and at the Farmington Farmers Union. On March 6, 1969, she married Cleston M. Drown of Dixfield, whom she made a home with for 43 years.
Over the years, Grace and Cleston were very devoted to their faith and the Baptist churches they attended. She was a member of the North Chesterville and Wilson Granges. Grace enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, skiing, skating, traveling to and from Florida, and spending time with their family.
She is survived by her husband of 43 years and her son, George Weeks and his wife, Diane, and her daughter, Nancy Weeks Lake, all of Farmington; stepchildren, Judy Drown Roberts and her husband, Alan, of Vermont, Randy Drown of Shapleigh, Gary Drown and wife, Tama of Newry and Trudy Toothaker of Jay; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
The family would like to say a special thank-you to all the staff at Franklin Memorial Hospital, Pinewood Terrace and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, for all the great care she received. She loved you all very much.
