SOUTH PARIS — Maine Machine Products, 79 Prospect Ave., recently congratulated Norman Parks, a 2012 high honors graduate of Central Maine Community College’s Precision Machining Technology degree program. He is a full-time associate at MMP.
Parks graduated from Buckfield High School in 2010 and was accepted into the apprenticeship program at MMP, from which he received a full scholarship to cover the cost of tuition, books and fees.
The program offers a broad training experience in the metal products industry through a combination of classroom study and assigned shop activities. Since 1974, Maine Machine Products has awarded more than 60 scholarships to students enrolled in the Precision Machining Technology program at CMCC. The program has been so successful for MMP, that more than half of the scholarship recipients are still employed with the company.
