DEAR SUN SPOTS: We really enjoy your column and find the information you publish very helpful. With your knowledge and the help of your readers, you seem to be able to answer all questions.

We have a Kineo Grand wood stove with mica in the front door instead of glass. We have remodeled and don’t have room to use it anymore and would like to sell it. It isn’t in perfect condition and does need some work.

Do you know if there is anyone in the Lewiston-Auburn area who buys and restores wood stoves? It would look really nice just sitting in a room, even if no one used it.

Thanks again for the good column. — No Name, Auburn

ANSWER: Sun Spots spoke to several local wood stove shops, and they all said that your stove is an antique and that the place to go for help with it is the Bryant Stove Shop in Thorndike.

Sun Spots spoke to Basil at Bryant’s, and he said if you get it to him, he’d take a look at whether the repairs are worth doing. If not, he said he might buy it for parts.

The contact information for Bryant is 27 Stovepipe Alley, Thorndike, ME 04986, 568-3665.

DEAR SUN SPOTS: Thank you for your continued help in finding the perfect picnic table, clock repairer and volunteers for my agency. Whether personal or professional, you have always come through and I appreciate it.

The question of the day: Do you know someone in the Sabattus area who cleans pellet stoves? — No Name, No Town

ANSWER: Sun Spots appreciates your gratitude, but she’s not sure she can live up to such lofty expectations. She did call around looking for help.

Fireside Stove Shop at 1120 Center St. in Auburn, 784-9249, said it might be able to help, depending on what kind of stove you have.

Mountain View Stove in Turner does not do this work but recommended that you call the shop where you bought your stove for help with cleaning.
