AUBURN — Marcelle G. (Simoneau) Daniels, 91, formerly of Ash Street, Lewiston, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, with her loving family by her side, at Clover Manor Nursing Facility, where she had been a resident for the past four years.

She was born in Lewiston, Nov. 22, 1920, the youngest child of the late Joseph and Berthe (Tardif) Despres. She was a lifelong resident of Lewiston and attended Sacred Heart School in Jackman, then later attended school in Lewiston.

Marcelle married Ernest W. Simoneau on Aug. 4, 1945, he predeceased her in 1959. She later married Florian (Pete) Daniels Jr. in 1968, and they shared 35 years together until his death in 2003. She was a lifelong member of The Prince of Peace Parish of The Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, and the Ladies of St. Anne. She worked for many years at Ward Bros. until she retired in 1985.

Marcelle enjoyed going for walks, crossword puzzles, and playing cards. She also loved to spend time with family especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She is survived by a son, Paul Simoneau and his wife, Deborah, of Lewiston; a daughter, Suzanne Crawford and her husband, Morrell, of Gorham; stepchildren, Joline Caron and husband, Dudley, of Scarborough, Florian Daniels III and companion, Randall Mullin, of Old Orchard Beach and Maryann Chandler and husband, Granville, of Minot; grandchildren, Vanessa R. Crawford of Portland, Kevin P. Simoneau of Lewiston, Tracy L. Mathews of Lewiston, Michael Cole of Lewiston, Matthew Cole of Lewiston, Jeffrey Caron of Turner, Dia Taylor of Missouri, and James Caron of South Burlington Vt.; several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and a very special sister-in-law and friend, Florence Daniels of Greene.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Beatrice Simoneau; brothers, Lucien, Andrew and Louie Despres; and a sisters, Cecile (Sister Philomena) and Theresa.
