LISBON — Two people complained of pain, and combined damage was estimated at $4,200 in a three-vehicle collision on Route 196 in Lisbon Falls on Thursday.
Officer Richard St. Amant identified the drivers as Judith Hall, 34, of Freeport, who was taken to a Lewiston hospital with back pain; Andrea Harris, 21, of Wales; and Germain Frechette, 82, of Lewiston. His passenger, Christine Ducharme, 79, complained of rib pain and was treated at the scene by Lisbon emergency personnel.
All three vehicles were headed east when Hall stopped for traffic, St. Amant said. Harris, who was behind her, was unable to stop in time to avoid a collision and skidded into the rear of Hall’s vehicle. Frechette also unable to stop in time and struck the rear of Harris’ auto, the officer said.
He estimated the damage to Hall’s 2003 Chevy Tracker at $900; to Harris’ 2005 Suzuki sedan at $3,000; and to Frechette’s 1998 Dodge Caravan at $300 in the 11:23 a.m. crash.
No charges were filed.
It was the second accident at the same location in the past five days, St. Amant said, adding that a check of department records indicated 30-plus accidents had occurred since 2008 in that 500-foot section of highway, which is just prior to the Frost Hill Avenue intersection.
