North Country Associates announces that Orchard Park Rehab & Living Center in Farmington is the recipient of the company’s safety award. The award is given to any of its facilities that have completed at least 12 months without a lost-time accident. Employees are eligible for a drawing to win one of several $25 gift certificates. Each facility has a safety committee that reviews the incidents that occur each month and makes recommendations to prevent injury in the future. Upon being hired, and as a refresher yearly, each employee attends “Back School” to learn how to lift properly and avoid strains. North Country owns and consults with 24 health care facilities in Maine and Massachusetts.
