LEWISTON — Raymond T. Bergeron, 46, of Church Street, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, June 20, at Central Maine Medical Center after a severe heart attack.

He was born in Lewiston, a son of the late Joseph and Jacqueline (Dulac) Bergeron. He was educated in Lewiston, graduated from Lewiston High School, Class of 1983, he then went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in engineering from Grantham University.

Ray married his high school sweetheart, Kathleen (Pare) at Holy Cross Church on May 3, 1986, and together they settled on Church Street and raised their two children. He has worked for 20 years at Geiger as engineering and facilities manager, a job he truly enjoyed going to everyday.

Ray was a member of The Prince of Peace Parish of Holy Cross Church, the Amateur Radio Club, and was “the stats man” for Lewiston High School’s hockey team. He loved the water, whether it was on his boat, in his pool, on Clearwater Beach, Fla., or taking care of his tropical fish in his saltwater fish tank.

Most of all, he loved following his children to all of their sporting events. Ray was Mr. Fix It: he loved working on things and could fix almost anything.

He leaves his wife of 26 years, Kathleen of Lewiston; a daughter, Jennifer and a son, Jacob, both of Lewiston; three sisters, Pauline Blackenship and husband, Harvey, of Alaska, Susan Corning and husband, Dwight, of South Paris and JoAnn Suter and husband, Jeff, of Washington State; a brother, Robert Bergeron and wife, Giselle, of Alaska; his mother-in-law, Pauline Pare of Florida; many nieces and nephews; and his Geiger Family.
