I would like to tell you about the lockers at Lewiston Middle School. To begin with, our lockers are too small. I have to kick my stuff in to make sure my locker will close, and I know that I am not the only one.

The lockers are thin and need to be widened. There is plenty of space for that. When I have gym class, I go to my locker and get my bag of clothes and shoes. It is like I am playing tug-of-war with my locker. Then I hit my friend by accident while trying to get my school supplies.

Next, the appearance of the lockers: First the coat hooks . . . Wait, what coat hangers? They barely exist now. There is only a silhouette where they were, or broken stubs of them. Those were for our coats, but instead we have to shove them on the floor.

Secondly, the paint is chipping and you can definitely see the rust. The rust is on the hinges and it makes an annoying squeaking sound. It distracts me and other kids from learning. For some kids, their locker is dented and bent. It is hard for a few of my classmates to get their lock out of the slot for it.

Lastly, the lockers don’t close all the way. The kids slam into them to make them shut.

Please vote. I need a place to hang my coat.
