I think we all can agree that there are many improvements that could be made to Lewiston Middle School, but there is one that I am sure would be beneficial to everyone.
I am talking about the school’s heating system.
Throughout the time that I have been here, students and staff constantly complain about how cold or how hot it is in the building. There have been times when I have had to wear my winter coat in a classroom. Then, in the next period, I would be wishing that I had worn shorts to school.
The heating system also makes quite a racket. I remember once when I couldn’t even hear my teacher talking.
On top of it all, it is just a safety hazard. There are exposed pipes and radiators everywhere. I can’t tell you how many times my classmates and I have accidentally bumped into one of those pipes and burned ourselves.
I just don’t think this is a good working environment. Between focusing on how hot or cold it is, trying to hear what my teachers are saying and dodging exposed pipes, it is really difficult to even think about doing schoolwork.
So, if you would please just consider replacing the out-of-date heating system here at LMS, it would mean a lot to me and my classmates.
