As a student at Lewiston Middle School, many people know that the classrooms need to be renovated.

The paint on the walls is chipped, peeling and have been white, I am assuming, since the middle school was the high school. The white board material used in classrooms is bathroom shower boards; half the windows don’t open, and there are exposed pipes.

The chalkboards are as old as dirt. Some kids are allergic to chalk dust. There are old P.A. systems and clocks that are broken and still on the walls. Power outlets are in useless places (there are two in my sixth-period class that are near the top of the 10-foot ceiling).

There are more things that I could write about.

The rooms are just waiting for someone to get hurt, which goes against the Lewiston public schools’ motto: Be safe, be respectful and be responsible.

That is why I think LMS should be renovated. Please take that into consideration.
