Isn’t it supposed to be a safe environment for kids while they are at school? Well, Lewiston Middle School is safe, but not as safe as you might think it is.

As you walk through the halls of LMS, you can see that there are water stains on the ceilings from leaks. Those leaks just sit there and have never had anything done to them. Leaks that are not taken care of can cause damage to people’s health.

So, why does no one bother to fix those leaks? It hurts the health of many students here at LMS.

Walking through the halls at LMS, you can see that mostly all wires in the halls are exposed, just hanging. Yes, they are strung on a metal bar, but they are still wide open and could cause a spark at any time.

That could cause major damage if sparks landed on a student. There could be a ripped wire that no one knows about; there could be a water leak that lands on the ripped wire(s), causing ruined wires and maybe even hurting students.

Lots of the paint in the halls has peeled. We try to cover the areas with work and posters but once those are taken down, there are just the dusty, old walls again.

So, if you want to make sure that your child is safe at LMS, please vote to help the students at LMS.
